Traditionally used

Iceland moss is traditionally used as a respiratory remedy for chronic coughs, sore throats, and to help clear mucus from the lungs. It also serves as a soothing remedy for inflamed digestive tract lining and is valued for supporting overall immunity during illness.

Prepared as

Prepare as a decoction by simmering 1-2 teaspoons of dried lichen in hot water for 10-15 minutes, then strain. Can also be prepared as a cold water extraction by soaking overnight to reduce bitterness.
