Traditionally used
⚠ Contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids that accumulate and damage the liver — not for internal use, and never in pregnancy. Used mostly externally for fever, inflammation, skin conditions, wounds, respiratory complaints, and intestinal worms.
Prepared as
WARNING: toxic in large doses. Leaf tea used carefully in small amounts for fever and respiratory infections — steep 5 leaves in hot water 10 minutes, drink half cup once daily maximum. Seed poultice applied externally to skin infections. Do not exceed recommended amounts. Avoid during pregnancy and with children. Consult an herbalist before internal use.
