Traditionally used

Coltsfoot is traditionally used as a respiratory remedy for coughs, bronchitis, and sore throats due to its soothing mucilaginous properties. The leaves are also applied externally to treat skin inflammation and wounds.

Prepared as

The dried leaves are prepared as a hot infusion by steeping 1-2 teaspoons in boiling water for 10-15 minutes. For external use, fresh leaves can be crushed and applied directly as a poultice.
