Traditionally used

⚠ A strong stimulant laxative — the bitter leaf latex, not the gel. Short-term use only for occasional constipation; not in pregnancy, nursing, menstruation, haemorrhoids, or bowel disease, and never prolonged (habituation, electrolyte loss). Seek guidance before internal use. Distinct from Aloe vera, whose gel is the soothing topical.

Français — ⚠ Laxatif stimulant puissant — le suc amer de la feuille, non le gel. Usage court seulement, contre constipation occasionnelle; pas pendant la grossesse, l'allaitement, les règles, en cas d'hémorroïdes ou de maladie intestinale, jamais prolongé. Demander conseil avant tout usage interne. À distinguer de l'Aloe vera (gel apaisant, topique).
