Pineappleweed — Matricaria discoidea, used in Haitian and Caribbean herbal tradition

Traditionally used

Pineappleweed is a rayless cousin of chamomile whose crushed heads smell sweet and fruity. Its volatile oil relaxes cramp in the gut, so it is taken for colic, wind, and the digestive unrest that unsettles the whole belly. It has also carried a traditional name as a worm remedy, a use best left to guided care.

In three languages
