Traditionally used
A bitter tonic thistle, taken as a cold infusion to stir appetite and support liver and stomach. ⚠ In more than small amounts it burns the mouth and throat and brings on vomiting and diarrhoea; avoid in Asteraceae (daisy-family) allergy and in pregnancy. Keep the dose low.
