Buttonsage — Lantana involucrata, used in Haitian and Caribbean herbal tradition

Traditionally used

An aromatic seaside shrub, oregano-scented, quite distinct from the toxic pink-flowered Lantana of gardens (L. camara). A leaf infusion is taken for colds, fevers, and an upset stomach, and used as a fragrant wash — a gentle everyday aromatic. ⚠ Treat internal use cautiously — the genus's lantadene chemistry is unresolved for this species; keep to external/skin use.

In three languages

Kreyòl — bouyi fèy pou trete maladi po (varisèl, gratèl, piki); trete konjesyon nan poumon; flè pou tansyon wo ⚠ Trete itilizasyon entèn ak anpil prekosyon — chimi lantaden nan jan an poko klè pou espès sa a; rete sou itilizasyon eksten / sou po.
