Yellow Archangel — Lamium galeobdolon, used in Haitian and Caribbean herbal tradition

Traditionally used

Yellow archangel works much as its white cousin does — a mucilaginous flower that loosens phlegm in the chest and settles the pelvic organs. It is used in bronchitis and catarrh of the airways and for troublesome discharge. Infuse two teaspoons of the flowers in a cup, two cups a day; it is usually blended with coltsfoot, marshmallow, mallow and violet.

Français — Le lamier jaune agit à peu près comme son cousin blanc — une fleur mucilagineuse qui détache le mucus dans la poitrine et apaise les organes du bassin. On l'emploie dans la bronchite et le catarrhe des voies respiratoires et pour les pertes gênantes. Faire infuser deux cuillerées à café de fleurs dans une tasse, deux tasses par jour ; on l'associe d'ordinaire au tussilage, à la guimauve, à la mauve et à la violette.
