Speedwell (Vewonik)

Traditionally used

Speedwell has been traditionally used as an expectorant for respiratory ailments including coughs and bronchitis. The herb is also valued for its diuretic properties supporting kidney function and urinary health, while topically it has been applied to wounds and skin conditions for its astringent and healing qualities.

Prepared as

Traditionally prepared as an infusion by steeping 1-2 teaspoons of dried aerial parts in hot water for 10-15 minutes. For external use, a stronger decoction can be made by simmering the herb for 20 minutes.
