Prepared as

Leaf decoction: boil handful of leaves in 2 cups water 10 minutes, use as wash for skin infections, rashes, and wounds. Tea: drink half cup twice daily for fever and urinary complaints. Bark decoction: boil small piece 15 minutes for antimicrobial wash. Fresh berries used as natural dye — diluted berry juice applied to skin conditions. Avoid ingesting berries.
