Traditionally used
Shepherd's purse is traditionally valued as a hemostatic herb, particularly effective for controlling excessive menstrual bleeding and other forms of hemorrhage. It has also been applied topically to wounds and cuts to promote clotting and healing, while internally supporting urinary tract health.
Prepared as
Prepare as a hot infusion using 1-2 teaspoons of dried herb per cup of boiling water, steeped covered for 10-15 minutes. For external use, apply the cooled tea directly to wounds or prepare a stronger decoction.
