Mountain avens — an alpine, tannin-rich Rosaceae. Its leaves make an astringent mountain tisane, taken in folk tradition for mild digestive upset and, loosely, for circulatory weakness; the evidence is slight. Chiefly a gentle astringent.

Français — Dryade à huit pétales — petite Rosacée alpine riche en tanins. Ses feuilles donnent une tisane de montagne astringente, prise dans la tradition populaire contre petits troubles digestifs et, vaguement, faiblesse circulatoire; les preuves sont minces. Surtout un astringent doux.
