Yon renmèd kay klasik pou granmoun ak timoun (ak presizyion pou dòz). Le séné est bien connu en Haïti comme laxatif naturel; les feuilles sont bouillies pour traiter la constipation et "nettoyer le ventre" — remède domestique classique utilisé avec précaution pour les enfants.

Sennosides A and B (anthraquinone glycosides) — hydrolyzed by intestinal bacteria to rhein anthrone → colonic irritation, increased motility and secretion. 8–12 hours onset.
