Fresh whiteweed leaves are crushed and steeped in hot water (not boiling) for 15-20 minutes to make a healing tea, taken 1/2 cup twice daily for respiratory ailments and fever. For external use, the fresh leaves are pounded into a poultice and applied directly to wounds, cuts, or skin infections. The plant can also be boiled gently for 10 minutes to make a stronger decoction for bathing inflamed skin or washing infected wounds.
