Traditionally used
⚠ Sea squill holds cardiac glycosides that act much like digitalis or strophanthus — they strengthen a failing heart and press the kidneys toward diuresis, easing oedema. This is heart medicine with no margin for error; the red-bulbed form yields scilliroside, potent enough to be used as rat poison. Any use belongs to standardised pharmaceutical preparation under a physician, never to home dosing. Recorded, not recommended.
