Prepared as

Bark decoction: boil small piece of bark in 2 cups water 15 minutes, drink half cup twice daily for diarrhea, fever, and inflammation. Leaf tea: boil handful 10 minutes for respiratory and digestive complaints. Bark poultice applied to wounds and skin infections. Fruit eaten fresh for vitamin C and immunity. Bark tannins provide strong astringent action for diarrhea.
