Traditionally used

A wetland herb with yellow four-petalled flowers. The whole plant in decoction is a Caribbean remedy for diarrhoea and dysentery and is laid on as a poultice for wounds and skin sores — astringent and cleansing. ⚠ Avoid in pregnancy (recorded as an emmenagogue).
