Prepared as

Bark decoction: boil small piece of bark in 2 cups water 15 minutes, drink half cup twice daily for fever, inflammation, and digestive complaints. Leaf tea: boil handful 10 minutes for respiratory support. Thorn poultice ground and applied to wounds as antiseptic. Bark tannins provide strong astringent action for diarrhea. Use no more than 2 weeks continuously.
