Traditionally used

⚠ Laxative — short-term use only (max 5–7 days); not in pregnancy, IBD, or intestinal obstruction. Topical: leaves in bath or friction for skin conditions and pruritus — strict hygiene required; intact skin only. Topical: bruised leaves with ground maize applied externally for vitiligo (traditional use). If skin condition worsens or persists beyond 5 days, seek medical attention.
