Bermuda grass (chendan) — Cynodon dactylon, used in Haitian and Caribbean herbal tradition

Wound healing, bleeding, urinary tract, diuretic, fever, skin inflammation

Prepared as

Fresh juice: crush handful of grass, extract juice, apply to wounds to stop bleeding and promote healing. Tea: boil handful in 2 cups water 10 minutes, drink half cup twice daily for fever and urinary complaints. Root decoction: boil small piece 15 minutes, drink for kidney stones and urinary gravel. Grass poultice applied to inflamed skin and minor wounds.
